Restoring Academic Eligibility
If you are an academically ineligible UNC-Chapel Hill student, you must obtain written permission from your academic advisor or dean. Academic eligibility may be restored by taking UNC-Chapel Hill courses through summer school, Carolina Courses Online, and Self-paced Courses (some limitations apply). In order to be counted towards restoring eligibility for a given semester, your final course grade must be recorded in our office by the last day of the official registration ࢩperiod of that semester (usually the end of the first week of classes). No professional school courses offered through Carolina Courses Online, except those that are explicitly required for professional school degrees, can be used to restore academic eligibility for students in the General College or the College of Arts and Sciences at UNC-Chapel Hill. Professional courses include those in business, journalism and mass communication, information and library science, and health policy and administration.
