Residence Status for Tuition Purposes
Your residency for tuition purposes determines your in-state or out-of-state status and will impact your tuition. North Carolina residency for tuition purposes is governed by North Carolina state law. More information about North Carolina residency for tuition purposes can be found at www.ncresidency.org.
If you are claiming North Carolina residency, you must submit a residency application with the North Carolina Residency Determination Service (RDS). The RDS will provide you with a Residency Certification Number (RCN), which you may enter in your application for registration. Complete your residency application as soon as possible—you may complete it before you start or submit your registration request for Self-paced Courses.
