MUSC 143: Introduction to Rock Music
2nd Summer Session 2019 (5½ weeks: June 24–July 30)
Spring Semester 2019 (January 9 - May 7)
This course is designed to provide students with a knowledge of the history of rock music and its development within the broader context of American popular culture from the 1950s until today. The study of this music will allow students to develop their listening skills as well as a vocabulary with which they can intelligently discuss the music they hear in their daily lives.

- An online subscription to Rhapsody, Spotify, or any other listening service that allows you to hear the assigned music for the course (full songs, not just samples) is required for the length of the course.
