Enrollment for Semester-based Online Courses

Enrollment options vary based on the course and type of student you are.

Our online courses fill up very quickly. They may show as open/available but not allow certain students to enroll because the remaining online slots are reserved for non-degree seeking students or non-UNC-Chapel Hill students.  If the reserved online slots are not filled by January 4, then they will be released to the students who are on the waitlist.  If possible, we recommend getting on the waitlist.  If the waitlist is full, then we recommend speaking with your academic advisor about other options.

UNC-Chapel Hill Students

Students who are already enrolled at UNC-Chapel Hill can enroll in courses through ConnectCarolina.

Non-UNC-Chapel Hill Students

Students who are not already enrolled at UNC-Chapel Hill can enroll below:

Degree-seeking Students from Other Institutions:

If you are enrolled in a degree program at another UNC System institution, please use UNC Online to enroll in an online course from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Prerequisites

Some courses have prerequisite requirements. At the discretion of the instructor, prerequisites may be waived if you have relevant experience or education, or if you are not seeking a degree. Contact us for information on requesting a waiver.

Please note: Enrolling in a course does not constitute admission to the University.
